MUUR are from Thailand, and are a two friends with a shared passion for design and cycling who decided to create the kit they wanted to wear.
Tawatchai was an IT professional who had worked in large global IT organisations banks for more than 15 years. He started getting into cycling and found it very difficult to find good quality, stylish and reasonable price cycling apparel. Discussing this with a good friend; Pom Jitratuk, designer and avid cyclist, led to an offer from Pom to work on textile design. MUUR was born, with Tawachai as CEO and Pom as Head of Design, and just over a year of hard work, research and development later they launched their online store, and are already building an international reputation for their quirky, eye catching designs. The initial collection features men's and women's jerseys, caps and water bottles in two different designs.
The MUUR tagline is "for everyday life to hard paces". Their goal is to promote cycling culture and life style as part of everyday life (which is not as common a concept in Thailand as it is in Europe!) At the same time, the brand is targeting at serious cyclists who look for products with light weight, moisture-wicking, and performance cut.
The kit has been tried and tested in the hot and sweaty riding conditions regularly experienced by the MUUR team. The Bangkok local loop is the "skylane", a 23.5 Km loop around the Bangkok international airport runway. (The equivalent to London's Regent's or Richmond park perhaps?) For a serious ride, a drive out of Bangkok is necessary but rewarded with beautiful mountains and scenery. (check out this video for some amazing views!)
We are so excited to add MUUR to the OMNIUM family! We love their unique perspective and can't wait to see what they do in the future.
